Branson / Kimberling City / Indian Point Tornado
♫ March 3rd, 2012 8:16 pmYou probably didn’t hear about it on the News but Indian Point got hit by the Tornado as well. The Harbor (Not Indian Point Marina) had lots of damage.
Starting in Kimberling City near the Joe Bald Market the tornado EF2 traveled East for about 22 miles. It took out several homes just South of the Joe Bald Market went down Stone Road across the lake and hit the Kimberling Inn, destroying the dock, Ahoy’s Restaurant and a lot of the Kimberling Inn Resort. From there it struck the Port of Kimberling, again destroying a bunch of docks, boats, trees, building before continuing on in to Branson. Starvin Marvin’s restaurant & hotel on the west side of the Strip down to the Branson Landing then across Lake Taneycomo and up Mt. Branson. Its interesting how the tornado totally missed some buildings then demolished others right next door. The area got very lucky, nobody was killed.
The strip is blocked off from 76/Roark Valley Road to 76/Fall Creek intersection.
